SPIRITUAL VALUES
Church Camp offers you many avenues to be refreshed and renewed in your spiritual walk as a believer. It is a time when you can strengthen your relationship with the Lord and be encouraged in the Word of God through the camp sessions. Relevant topics and life changing messages will be shared by our camp speakers.
There will be time for you to fellowship with other campers through organized recreational activities. This will enable you to grow and build your relationships with one another within the Calvary family. Camp is a wonderful time for you to have spiritual reflection and wait upon the Lord, seeking His purpose and plan for your life and ministry.
CAMP SPEAKERS
Dr. Joseph Castleberry (English Camp) is the president of Northwest University. He was previously a missionary in Latin America for 20 years, during which he served as a university professor and pastor in El Salvador, and as a pastor, seminary dean, and community development leader in Ecuador.
Because of his vast missionary and pastoral experiences, Dr. Castleberry is a much sought after speaker for conferences and seminars, and also frequently preaches at churches. He has authored four books and enjoys writing about spiritual themes and how they fit into life and society.
Dr. Castleberry has enjoyed 34 years of marriage with his wife, Kathleen, and their family comprises three daughters, two sons in law and one grandson.
Rev. Marcus Tan (Chinese Camp) is the Senior Pastor of Penang First Assembly of God and has been in the ministry for more than four decades. He believes wholeheartedly in church growth and in training leadership that will take nations for Christ before His return.
Rev. Marcus also preaches at church camps and Christian conferences. He has served as the Northern District Superintendent and on the Executive Committee of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia.
Pastor Masoko Selvaratnam (Kids' Camp) together with her husband, Rev. Roy Selvaratnam, are pastors of the Kanazawa Christ Church International in Yokohama, Japan.
Pastor Masako has served in Calvary Church's Children Ministry and Japanese Ministry. She was our Kids' Camp speaker in 2007 and was a great blessing as she has a special gift in relating to children.
Rev. Roy Selvaratnam (Youth Camp) is a graduate of the Bible College of Malaysia. He served in Calvary Church in the Pastoral Care Department and the Satellite Churches. Growing up in Calvary Church, he was part of the Carpenter's Workshop, Christ Ambassadors, College Students, Royal Rangers and Music ministries.
Rev. Roy pastors Kanazawa Christ Church International, Yokohama, Japan and has served in this position since 2000. He and Masako have two sons, Daniel and Joshua, who are currently in universities.
YOUTH CAMP
Theme: LIFE
There is a great discrepancy when we compare the portrayal of the “real life” by God and the world.
Rev. Roy Selvaratnam will be ministering to the Youth with messages specifically tailored to deal with the challenges young people can relate to, on the question “How do we attain the Real Life?”
Life isn’t free from tough questions and issues. Join our workshops as we look into the Bible to answers questions and issues young people face today on living wisely and sexual purity. Life can be meaningful if we walk it with the right people.
Come and expect to build new friendships and strengthen relationships. We also have an array of activities specifically planned out for you! From telematches, sports competition to board games night over hot dogs, you can expect a great time of excitement and fun.
KIDS' CAMP
Fear should not be a factor for the believer! “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)
What are your limitations? What is a challenge for you? Eating your vegetables? Sleeping alone in the dark? This Kids' Camp, come your limitlessness and potential in Christ Jesus. Go with confidence, proclaiming your faith in Jesus.
Fearless Factor is a four-day Kids Camp organised by Calvary Kids in conjunction with Church Camp. The Kids Camp is opened to children aged 1 to 11 years. (Nursery Care will be for 1-4 years)
CAMP VENUE
Bayview Beach Resort, Penang is a 4-star resort located along the famed Batu Ferringhi beach, with rooms that offer picturesque views.
Each room is equipped to provide guests with optimum comfort, with its own private balcony, WiFi access, fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a safe box, among other amenities. The resort has well-equipped function rooms that are ideal for our camp sessions.
Additionally, there are two outdoor swimming pools for the adults, and two pools designed with the children in mind. Other facilities are also available, such as a gym, library, outdoor jacuzzi, and various game courts.
