For Such Is the Kingdom of Heaven
Children's Day 2025
On Sunday, 5 October 2025, joyful laughter filled the air at Calvary Convention Centre as the little ones gathered to celebrate a joyful and meaningful Children’s Day. This was not just another event on the calendar; it was a testimony of God’s love in every smile, song, and act of service.

The programme for the Carpenter’s Workshop (CW) began with worship in the auditorium together with the parents, grandparents, and the rest of the congregation, reflecting Calvary Church’s intergenerational love for one another and God’s faithfulness throughout.
After that, the children were dismissed for their own celebration. Pastor Richard Yun’s special message for them struck a beautiful chord with the children, who responded with open hearts and curious minds, showing that God’s Word, when spoken in love, never returns void.

Thank God for the smooth coordination, especially with the well-organised seating arrangements. It made transitions seamless and ensured every child felt safe and cared for throughout the day. The many fun activities and games specially prepared for the children kept them all intrigued and excited, as they learned of God’s love for them through the entertainment brought to them by all the teachers and volunteers.

One of the highlights that truly delighted the children’s hearts was the “Treasure Collection” gift bags. Packed with surprises and Scripture-inspired keepsakes, these little bags brought wide smiles and a sparkle of wonder to many young faces – a creative and thoughtful gift that reminded them they are treasured by God.
At the Calvary Nursery Care (CNC), the Children’s Day celebration was a joyful, faith-filled morning as 69 little ones gathered with excitement under the theme “Powered by Jesus!” The programme aimed to help every child know that Jesus gives us power: He is our Superhero who makes us strong, brave, loving and kind. Through Him, we can do many good things!
Their morning began with cheerful greetings of “Happy Children’s Day!” followed by playtime and worship. During the lesson, the tots watched a short video story about Paul and Silas, who praised God even while they were in prison. They learned that just like Paul and Silas, we can trust Jesus to give us strength in every situation. The memory verse for the day, Philippians 4:13 — “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength”, reminded the children that “Jesus makes me strong!”
After a refreshing snack of Yakult and round mini crackers (symbolising strength and protection), each child received their very own handmade Shield of Faith and Superhero Cuffs to prepare for the fun ahead. With these in hand, the excitement continued through three interactive activity stations designed to bring the day’s theme to life, reinforcing the beautiful truth that with Jesus, they can be strong and courageous.

- Step into Faith Path – Children walked on colourful footprints, learning that every step with God is safe and sure.
- Stand Strong Balancing Line – They discovered that faith helps us stay steady and strong, even when life feels wobbly.
- Shield of Faith Station – With their handmade shields, they joyfully deflected foam darts, learning that faith protects us like a shield!
The celebration ended with happy smiles, thankful hearts and a goodie bag for every child — a sweet reminder that each one is special and precious to God. Truly, our little heroes left the day feeling powered by Jesus!
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Heartfelt thanks to every teacher, volunteer, and parent who gave time, presence, and heart to make this event not just possible, but powerful. As we reflect on the day, we are reminded of Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
May we never tire of planting seeds of faith in the hearts of our children with love, joy, and excellence. To God be all the glory!
