Seeking and Finding

Coming from a non-Christian family, I knew about Jesus since I studied in AIM Christian College and Calvary Education Resource Centre(CERC).
I believed in Jesus, but I had never done anything to get into a relationship with God until I attended Youth Camp last year. There, God set me free from the severely depressing state I was in due to my injured knee and a friend who betrayed me, and He also set me free from a state of confusion and stress.
God also gave me direction on what I should study in the future. I felt seen, understood and ultimately comforted. Since then, I had a desire to go to church and wanted to know Him more.
On one of the nights during Youth Camp, I responded to the call to serve, even though I had no idea how or what it would do to me. I remember that the first ever time I attended church this year, the Easter production was still open for participation and I had a really strong desire to join. I signed up for it, but God decided to put me somewhere else and that was OneVoice.
There, I met so many wonderful youths I immediately clicked with, and some are now my closest friends (like family). As I became more active in Calvary Youth Fellowship (CYF), I got to know more people in church; they have all brought me closer to God and helped me grow spiritually as we worshipped and learned more about God together. When I first came to church, I was alone, but now I’m surrounded by so many precious people God has blessed me with.
My blessings did not end there. As I continued serving God faithfully and put Him first, He answered a prayer – one that I had prayed for the entire year. At night, after our One Voice David and Goliath musical, my parents asked me, “How do you pray?”. It shocked me as my father was a very strong non-believer. The following week, my parents removed the Guan Ying statue from our home and told me that they are coming to church with me. The Lord opened their hearts and they have come back to Him!
As I went in faith for the choral competition with One Voice (which fell on my exam week), not only did we achieve an incredible result of 2 golds and 1 silver but my university also approved my application for replacement exams, and I even scored 4.0 GPA!
There were many times God told me to wait, but in the end, He fulfilled all His promises. It is crazy how much God has done for me this year and how many miracles He has performed in my life. God has been so very good and faithful to me! I cannot express enough how thankful I am to Jesus for saving my life.
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.”
