Awake, O Sleeper!
Prayer Awakening Conference
The Prayer Awakening Conference on 12 and 13 July made a significant impact on the 665 participants who came expecting to receive from God. Invited speaker, Apostle Julius Suubi, spoke on the important of the two dimensions of prayer - individual and corporate.
Fulfilling our destiny requires requires us to be dissatisfied with our current spiritual condition and to arise from our spiritual slumber. We need to be awakened to the power of passionate prayer, and to become more interested in God's Word.
What are the mechanics of prayer that activate the supernatural? First of all, our prayers must originate with God - they are His tool for communicating with us, so we learn to relate according to His way. We align our prayers with God's heart and pray according to His will. Our prayers become powerful and effective when we have faith and thanksgiving, and separate ourselves from the things that hinder our relationships with God.
In Luke 18 : 1, Jesus said that "...men ought always to pray and not faint." Prayer is hard work! The good thing is, we do not have to depend on ourselves - we yield to the Holy Spirit, and He empowers us.
If we want to recover our prayer territory and experience the supernatural power of God, we need to spend unhurried time building our prayers altars every day. The size of our altar is dependent on our sacrifice, and the amount of time spend with God. When there is an increased presence of God in our lives, we have joy and peace in spite of bad news!
When God's people come together, with everyone carrying a certain measure of His presence, it creates an atmosphere of limitless possibilities for miracles.
Our personal altar is made stronger when we come to the Church corporate prayer altar. Corporate prayer supercharges our personal and family prayer altars. Corporate prayer is powerful because, when God's people come together, with everyone carrying a certain measure of His presence, it creates an atmosphere of limitless possibilities for miracles. That is the unbeatable power of a corporate prayer altar!
This is why we do not just pray alone - we need to come out for corporate prayer meetings. This is one way we advance the kingdom of God. The enemy is always trying to gain ground. If we do not do anything to push back the enemy, he will occupy our prayer territory and the supernatural power of miracles in the Church diminishes.
The powerless Church is not attractive to people, especially people in need of hope.
The Church is called to be a house of prayer. A powerless Church is not attractive to people, especially people in need of hope. Therefore, it is vital to commit our nation to God at every prayer meeting. Without the nation fulfilling its destiny, we cannot fulfill our destiny, personally and corporately as a church.
The Church therefore, must be aggressive in praying against the enemy to reclaim and maintain lost of prayer territory. Revival depends on corporate prayer. Revival follows the increased presence of God within and among us. Fresh testimonies will flow out and people will know that or God is real.
In addition to the insightful truths imparted by Apostle Julius Subi, participants were also refreshed by the time of corporate praying in tongues. Many received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and many others also received physical and emotional healing.
