Calvary Church joyfully celebrated Easter this year with an Easter presentation held over two evenings and an Easter Worship Service. Titled, “Unfailing Love”, the presentation was held at 8.00pm, Friday, 15 April 2022 and 5.00pm, Sunday, 17 April 2022 whereas the Easter Worship Service was held at 9.00am, Sunday, 17 April 2022. There was a total of 3,881 in physical attendance during these services. At the time of writing, there has been more than 7,000 views of both the livestream and recording of our services on our YouTube channel. 

We are grateful to God for the 23 precious individuals who invited Jesus into their lives for the first time that weekend, and the church family who will be walking with them spiritually as they journey with God.

The Music and Creative Arts ministry did an amazing job singing, acting, and dancing. Some touching scenes include a modern-day reenactment of the Prodigal Son, monologues of the Adulterous Woman and of the Blind Man who were healed by Jesus, and how Jesus took the punishment that was meant for us because of our sin. Personally, I was blessed by the musical that gave me goosebumps many times. My appreciation of Christ’s death on the cross was deepened. 

Associate Pastor Richard Yun shared a heartwarming message on Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, of His unfailing love when He died for our sins. He shared his personal experiences of God’s love as a son and a father himself. 

“I really felt God's presence today”, “The experience touched my heart”, “I feel whole, happy, and fulfilled” were some of the one-liner remarks of respondents at the physical services. Hallelujah! A Calvarite joyfully shared the news that while watching the streaming the service online, her uncle responded to Pastor Richard’s invitation to accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. 

Jesus rose again on Easter Sunday, three days after His death on Good Friday. That is God’s way of saying, “Jesus is my chosen one. When you believe in Him, I will resurrect you too.” More than 60 children and teenagers sang and danced for this Easter Worship Service. 

Senior Associate Pastor Petrina Guneratnam shared an inspiring message entitled “The Risen Champion.” It is truly the greatest miracle when Jesus conquered death and was resurrected as recorded in history. She proclaimed, “For every Friday, there is a Sunday!” 

Jesus’ death provided for all of us means to reconcile with God and to live a wonderful life freed from the bondage of sin. His resurrection is evidence of who He is and of God’s promise and power. While Easter is over, His unfailing love never ends.
