We are filled with joy and gratitude to share the success of the first "Bread of Life" distribution. Launched in 2024, Bread of Life is an initiative by the Calvarite men, "Men of Calvary" in collaboration with the Missions Ministry on a mission to assist families and individuals who are struggling to put food on the table. The project had embodied the mission to extend Christ's love and compassion to those in need within our community.

Over the past months, the Men of Calvary have dedicated their time and creativity to get the Bread of Life project up and running. While we realise that, for the need families, the initiative only provides nourishment for the body, we also seek to nourish souls. Our ultimate desire is reflected in John 6:35, where Jesus says, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Through the dedication and hard work of a cohesive team, we were able to distribute essential food supplies to needy families, providing much-needed relief and hope during these challenging times. At the point of writing, a total of 21 families have been blessed.

We have received countless testimonies of gratitude and joy from recipients. We were especially encouraged by two recipients who, overcome with emotion, told us they were down to their very last meal. Many shared how the Bread of Life support arrived at a crucial time, lifting burdens and renewing their faith in God's provision.

The is precisely why we, the Men of Calvary, undertook the project. The impact of this project is profound, reminding us of the power of the Church community and the importance of serving one another as Christ loved us.

Our efforts are guided by Scripture, both the Old and New Testaments : Isaiah 58 : 10 says, "...and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." And in Matthew 25 : 35, Jesus teaches us, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."

Let us continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching out to those in need and spreading His love far and wide. Together, we can make a difference and bring glory to God through our actions.
