Food Bank at Calvary Convention Centre
We thank the Lord that your generous Missions giving is helping those in need living or working around Bukit Jalil through a Food Bank set up every Saturday at the Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) entrance.
Through God’s gracious providence, Calvary has been able to help 390 individuals and families on the last four Saturdays. Each food pack comprised essentials such as rice, noodles, canned-food, Milo and coffee or tea. The packs, given on a first come, first helped basis, were all taken within a few hours. Those who benefitted included local and migrant workers around the area and residents from the public housing projects near CCC.
A big “thank you” to all who contributed to the food bank in kind or through our weekly Missions Offering. The food bank will continue to operate every Saturday morning through September 2021.
We appreciate Senior Associate Pastor Petrina Guneratnam for initiating this project coordinated by Executive Pastor Jim Guneratnam together with a team from our management staff, and Senior Pastor Prince Guneratnam for his continued support and encouragement.
If you wish to contribute in kind towards the food bank, you may do so until 17 September 2021. We accept dry goods (rice, instant noodles, canned food, Milo, coffee, tea) but not perishable food (frozen or refrigerated food, bread or bakery products, eggs, fruits, vegetables) or opened, damaged, food close to expiry (expiry date less than one month) and non-food items. These food items can be dropped off at the guardhouse at Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) or with the security guard at Calvary Damansara Heights (CDH) between 7am and 7pm. Please pack the items and label them “For Food Bank”.
