On 21 October 2023, six determined Adventure Rangers, led by eight experienced Commanders embarked on an exciting hike. This hike was one of four organised for the Adventure Rangers Silver Group to complete their Hiking Merit.

As the 3rd highest peak in Negeri Sembilan, Gunung Angsi has one of the most spectacular views near Kuala Pilah. It took us about an hour’s drive to get there and we started our hike heading up cemented steps that opened up to a slightly sheltered portion of the mountain.

As we ascended the mountain, we encountered a variety of terrain, from dense forests to rocky slopes. These challenging landscapes tested our physical endurance and adaptability while allowing us to appreciate the natural world. 

The Gunung Angsi hike was not just an adventure, it was an experience that instilled in us resilience, teamwork, and a commitment to conservation. Upon reaching the summit, we were rewarded with a truly breathtaking view. 

We lunched atop the mountain and the chirping of insects, birdsong, and the sound of the wind brushing against the leaves, and it made us feel really close to creation and our Creator. After lunch we made our way back down the mountain. 

It was a memorable outing, and our memories of this journey will serve as a foundation for future adventures.
